Though what makes a person sexy? If you say glowing skin, good shinning hair, clean clear eyes, or a hot body? All of these aspects have good health to thank for creating them. In our race to become sexy and hot, we may want to start looking at healthy living before we go for the next fad diet.

We are constantly sending out non verbal signals of our sex appeal. These non verbal signals are all driven by healthy organ, circulatory system, immune system, and endocrine system to name a few. Even slight disruptions in our hormone levels can change aspects of our appearance and our ability to look our best. Eat Healthy Fats for Beautiful Skin

You can always tell if a person eats healthy by the quality of their skin. So what is your skin telling you?

We often don’t think about what we eat as it relates to our skin. Eating healthy is a key factor in smooth beautiful skin. The average American’s diet of high fat foods clogs the arteries, which leads to heart disease and strokes. I know you are saying we know that already. Though what you may not know this clogging of the arteries creates poor circulation which is the major cause of most skin problems.

Switching your diet to unsaturated fats such as avocados, olive oil, and fish will aid you in creating healthy skin. Also, important to eat dark leafy green vegetables as the vitamins and minerals in these are essential for optimal skin health.

Online Trainers Helping Fit Fitness Into Your Lifestyle

Many of us looking to take our workouts to the next level have explored the idea of hiring a personal trainer at some point. For some, the appeal is the absolute knowledge base of a trained professional, for others it is the increased accountability of holding an appointment, and still others want the one-on-one interaction and customized workouts to meet their own personal goals. Regardless of the reason, however, there are two main factors that keep many of us from hiring – time and money. We need a solution that can cater to our budgets and daily schedules.

A new internet trend is doing just that. The “online personal trainer” is coming to the rescue of an increasing number of budget-conscious, over-scheduled Americans, presenting the latest solution to help us master our fitness goals. While some may argue that the online plans can never exactly duplicate the experience of having a trainer at your side during your workout, the designers of these programs have gone to great lengths to match and, in some cases, improve the overall benefits that you receive.

As you would when hiring a personal trainer face-to-face, you need to ask questions and research the various plans and services to find the program that works best for you.

    Meeting Your Personal Needs

As our personalities differ so do our personal training needs.

There are a variety of solutions currently being offered online from auto-generated weekly workouts to personalized workouts created by trainers who interact with their clients on a regular basis via email or live instant messaging.

If it is just the basic information that you need, subscribing to a service that simply provides you with a weekly workout may be the right fit for you. Most of the service providers have some means of assessment to provide you with a starting workout based on your fitness level, so it is important to answer these questions honestly in order to receive the workout that most closely fits your needs. You are sent exercise plans on a regular basis and expected to follow them on your own. These programs are designed to meet the needs of those people who are motivated to work out and simply need a plan to keep them on target from week to week.

For those who truly want to keep the “personal” in personal trainer, some service providers offer the additional option of having direct interaction with a trainer via email or instant messaging. How much interaction you receive often depends on the level of service plan that you choose, however, almost all provide a cheaper option to the traditional approach to personal training.

    More Bang for Your Buck

If you’ve ever asked a personal trainer for their rates and gone into immediate sticker shock, you’re not alone. The current, average rate for a certified personal trainer is $60-$90 per hour. Multiply that by two to three hours per week you’re quickly looking at hundreds of dollars per month. In short, that kind of expense just isn’t an option for many of us.

Online personal training services, like many internet service offerings, are discounted because businesses are able to service a much larger customer base with less overhead. The automated programs are obviously the cheapest option because they require no actual human interaction.

If you want the customization and one-on-one guidance of a personal trainer so that you have someone on your side as you work toward your goals, many sites have an extended service that gives you access to a live person. Again, service levels and costs vary depending on the provider. For example, some sites allow you to email your personal trainer, providing a means for asking questions. A new site, LiveLeanToday.com, is taking the interaction one step farther to provide its personal training clients with daily access to their trainer via Instant Messaging. Clients will have the ability to open a chat window with their trainer in which they can carry on a real time conversation.

“Our mission is to provide our clients with the support they need to become fit for life,” says Chuck Carter, president of LiveLeanToday.com. “In effect, we’re providing them with even more access than they would have if they hired a personal trainer at a gym for a small fraction of the price. They have daily access to their trainers for asking questions, getting a little extra support on the bad days or encouragement on the good ones.”

    Making Fitness Fit Your Day

As the American lifestyle continues to get more hectic, online trainers are helping people fit fitness into their lives. Traditionally, hiring a trainer has meant coordinating your schedule with theirs. The problem is that more often than not, the hours that you are available – generally before work or after – are the same hours as those of every other client a trainer has.

The online personal trainer solves this issue by making your training programs available for download at any time. Since your workout is not dependent on someone else’s schedule, you are free to fit your workout in whenever you have the time. Additionally, since contact with your trainer takes place electronically, the trainers can work with several clients at the same time making them more accessible than the in-gym trainers that only work via appointment.

    Surrounded by Support

For those of us who have used a personal trainer before, we know that there are several more hours in the week than the two or three that we are actually able to spend with our trainers. It is easy to remain motivated in the presence of our trainers, but what happens when we leave the gym and try to fit our goals into our daily lives? This is one area where one online training site in particular truly excels.

A newcomer to the online community, LiveLeanToday.com, offers areas that allow you to talk to other people who are working towards fitness goals similar to yours. The message boards provide a forum for sharing tips and encouragement while you progress. It’s a fantastic medium for swapping recipes and gaining a little extra motivation on those days that you just don’t feel like working out, and it is the perfect place to share your successes with people progressing toward the same goals as you are.

According to Bryan Ashbaugh, CEO of LiveLeanToday.com, the community aspect is just as important to the overall success of many clients as a good eating plan and working out.

“In my 8 years of helping people reach their fitness goals, I’ve found that the plan is often only as good as that person’s system of support, which is truly outside of the reach of a personal trainer,” says Ashbaugh.

"At Live, we wanted to provide a forum for our clients where there would be nothing but positive encouragement from peers experiencing the same challenges and working toward similar goals.By providing our clients with a support system, that they might not otherwise have, as part of our plan, they’ll always have a source of encouragement to help them stay on track.”

    Yoga: The Perfect Remedy

Do you suffer from back pain, headaches, allergies, even insomnia? Rather than opening the medicine cabinet for that magic pill, try rolling out your yoga mat instead. Not only does yoga complement your fitness program by increasing flexibility and strength, it further benefits your health by releasing stress, banishing fatigue and fighting disease. Yes, yoga’s healing powers go far beyond what we see on the outside (beautifully toned muscles and stunning posture); yoga heals us from within, too.

Yoga has been around for centuries, yet research is constantly being done to show us the many benefits yoga has on the body and mind. While moving through various poses (called asanas) and utilizing breathing exercises (known as pranayama), yoga acts as a therapeutic remedy for almost any ailment. So, let’s take a deeper peek into yoga’s many benefits.

    Remedy: Pranayama
Breathing is undoubtedly one of the most natural things you do everyday. So natural, in fact, that you probably never think twice about it—unless you are racing towards anaerobic levels on your Spin bike. Nevertheless, yoga gives you the opportunity to “check-in” with your body and truly focus on your breathing. “Finding your breath” is actually one of the first things you will do in any yoga practice. Yoga emphasizes breathing to calm the body and relax the mind. In addition, breathing exercises will allow you to move deeper into specific poses, send more oxygen to your brain, and keep your body warm and revitalized.

    Remedy: Asana
Standing on your head calms the brain and strengthens the body. Twisting your body into pretzel-like positions energizes the spine and stimulates the liver and kidneys. In yoga, each pose, or asana, helps to improve flexibility, strength or balance; but even more, each pose represents a certain healing quality. For example, Bow pose clears congestion in your chest and opens the heart. Downward Dog pose releases sinus pressure and clears your thoughts. Dancer pose aligns your body and teaches you to overcome distraction. And, Corpse pose normalizes blood pressure; thus Corpse pose, ironically, may help prevent cardiovascular disease. Each pose is unique. Each pose is special. Each pose may be just the remedy you seek.

    Remedy: Balance
Yoga provides balance in your life—literally and figuratively. With yoga, improved balance is not only evident on the mat (standing tall on one leg in Tree pose); balance is also very evident when it comes to your day-to-day responsibilities outside of your practice. In his book, “Yoga for Life,” yoga master Alan Finger writes, “In today’s society it is common, unfortunately, to get trapped in a cycle of stress. When the stressful situation disappears, nature intends for the body to return to a balanced state.” Yoga helps reduce stress by teaching your mind to resist distraction. Not only does this “staying in the moment” help alleviate stress, it teaches you to become more disciplined in all areas of your life. Fingers writes, “With a regular yoga practice, you will most likely begin to view life’s inevitable challenges with serenity. Your daily life will be infused with the peaceful energy and harmony that are the mark of a productive, balanced yoga session.” This holds true. A student of mine believes yoga has helped her become more patient with her children. Even more, she believes she has become more patient with herself (learning new poses and perfecting strength holds without becoming frustrated).

So much more appealing than popping a pain killer, yoga will provide your life and body with the ease and therapeutic comfort it seeks. Sure, yoga may not solve every problem in the world, but it certainly comes close.

    Harmful Effects of Metabolic Stress
    Meridium XN, Healthy Solution

The need for antioxidants in our diet is becoming more and more important. Antioxidants fight and remove harmful byproducts of your metabolism burning energy. These harmful byproducts are called oxidative stress and are in the form of free radicals. Many of chronic diseases and cellular damage is associated with oxidative stress.

A term connected with the trauma of oxidative stress is metabolic stress. Metabolic stress refers to all the issues that affect our body and cells from your body’s natural process of burning energy. Metabolic stress covers oxidative stress and all other problems associated with your heart, weight management, cholesterol levels, insulin production and glucose levels in the blood, mood, focus, and over all energy levels. It’s a Resolution to Anti-aging

Five, four, three, two, one. Happy New Year! Whether you were dancing in the streets at midnight or sleeping beneath the sheets long before the ball dropped, the world rang in 2007, which means you will celebrate another birthday before 2008’s big bash. However, while “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” countdown and the counting of candles on your birthday cake may be unavoidable year after year, the way you age is certainly in your control.

Aging gracefully and comfortably (without the aches and pains of arthritis and osteoporosis) can be as simple as choosing the right foods in your diet, as well as exercising regularly. Because even more than preventing wrinkles, anti-aging also means preventing memory loss, heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis. For this reason, the anti-aging diet is receiving much attention and can certainly complement your everyday life.

The anti-aging diet is a combination of both nutrition and lifestyle factors. Not only is it important to pile your plate with healthy choices from the food pyramid, it is doubly important to keep your body fine-tuned by exercising, avoiding UV light and cigarettes, and even doing crossword puzzles. Yes, researchers have proven that mental activity forms a strong connection between your brain cells and the way your transmit thoughts, so as you age, you are less likely to develop Alzheimer’s. Even more, according to the American Dietetic Association, not only can mental activity reverse damage to your cells, but also with adequate amounts of vegetables and fruits, including blueberries and spinach, age-related losses in motor function and cognition can be reduced.

If you want to see your age grow to high numbers, then you need to make sure the scale shows you the lower ones. From weight training to cardio to yoga, a fusion of activity will keep you feeling young at heart and looking ageless in your jeans. Weight training will help you build muscle, maintain strong bone density, and burn fat. That’s right. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn. And while pumping weights will keep your muscles strong, cardio will help keep your heart pumping while yoga will keep your body stress-free.

Stress is one of many free radicals, which can cause damage to healthy cells, leading to internal aging as well as visible signs of external aging. Now, just as science has proven how dangerous free radicals are for our cells, antioxidants have proven to defend our cells by fighting against oxidation. Therefore, on the nutrition side of things, choosing antioxidant-rich foods, such as berries, may be one tasty way to living a longer, healthier life. According to the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, cranberries, blackberries and blueberries rank highest in antioxidant levels. In addition to berries, other anti-aging foods include garlic, fish, whole grains, cruciferous vegetables, nuts, soy, water and red wine.

Don’t let time pass you by. To stay looking and feeling younger than ever, make sure to exercise regularly, challenge your mind, avoid harmful UV light, and enjoy a low-calorie diet full of anti-aging foods. Start today and by 2008, you’ll be ringing in the New Year without having aged a day. Eat your heart out Dick Clark!

Build Strong Ripped Abs With Core Fitness Training

Core stability training works the muscles of the trunk, including the abs and back, as well as the hip musculature. Your core is the origin of movement and must be stable and strong to protect your spine and internal structures from injury while also giving you the ability to enhance performance. You can improve posture, balance, and create a solid foundation for increased strength and power.

Use a draw-in technique when performing these exercises. This means to draw in your navel toward you spine and hold tight, while maintaining a rhythmic breathing pattern. Use these exercises to supplement to your program. They are most effective in helping you reach your fitness and weight loss goals when combined with a complete body weight training and cardiovascular program and a healthy diet. At liveleantoday.com, our personal trainers will incorporate these exercises into a complete health and fitness program to help you reach your goals.

    Level 1 exercises (beginners)

    Quadruped

Begin on your hands and knees with your abdomen drawn in and tightened and your head in alignment with your torso (do not look up or let your head drop). Keeping your head and neck aligned, slowly raise one arm, thumb up straight in front of you, and the opposite leg, straight out with your toe pointed until your arm, torso and leg form a straight line. Hold for 1-2 seconds and then return to the original position. Repeat with alternate arm and leg.

    Floor Prone Cobra

Lay face down on the floor with your arms at your sides, palms up. Draw your abdominals inward and tighten. Keeping your chin tucked, and without using your arms for support, raise your chest off of the ground. Hold and slowly return to the starting position. Repeat as directed.

    2 Leg Floor Bridge

Position yourself stomach down on the floor with your toes pointed behind you, your elbows at your sides and your fists clenched under your shoulders. Draw your abdominals inward and tighten in one movement, lift yourself up and backwards so that your body is supported on your forearms and your toes. Your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders. Keep your back flat and your head in alignment (do not look up or let your head drop). Hold as directed and then slowly lower yourself back to the starting position. Repeat as directed.

    Level 2 exercises (novice/advanced)

    Ball Bridge

Begin seated on a stability ball with your feet flat on the floor in front of you, shoulder width apart, toes pointed forward. Walk yourself forward, letting the ball roll up your back until the ball is positioned between your shoulder blades and your buttocks are a few inches off of the floor. Drawing your abdominals inward and tightening, raise your hips until your knees, torso, shoulders and neck form a line that is parallel to the floor. Hold for a moment and then slowly lower to the starting position. Repeat as directed.

    Ball Cobra

Kneeling in front of a stability ball, position yourself so that the ball is under your abdomen; your arms are straight in front of you, perpendicular to the floor, palms flat on the floor; and your legs are straight out behind you, ankles flexed and toes on the ground. Keeping your legs straight, bring your arms up next to your sides, palms up, and then raise your chest so that your legs and torso form a straight line. Hold for one to two seconds and then lower your chest and return to the starting position, palms flat on the floor.

    Ball Pushup

Standing with a stability ball in front of you, bend at the waist and place both hands on the ball, shoulder width apart, thumbs pointed forward and fingers open for optimal stability and arms straight. Draw your abdominals inward and tighten. Step backwards with both feet until you are in a push up position. (Note: your hips, shoulders, neck and head should form a straight line and remain inline throughout the exercise.) Bend your elbows to slowly lower body towards the ball, going only as far as you can stay stable. Push yourself back up to the starting position by extending your elbows and contracting your chest.

    Abdominal Bridge with Leg Lift

Position yourself stomach down on the floor with your toes pointed behind you, your elbows at your sides and your fists clenched under your shoulders. Draw your abdominals inward and tighten. In one movement, lift yourself up and backwards so that your body is supported on your forearms and your toes. Your elbows should be directly beneath your shoulders Keep your back flat and your head in alignment (do not look up or let your head drop). Keeping all parts of your body in the same position, lift one leg off the ground no more than 6 inches keeping your leg straight. Hold as directed and then slowly lower yourself back to the starting position. Repeat this exercise, lifting the alternate leg.

    Ball Shoulder Combo

Lay face down with a stability ball under your abdomen. Keep your feet pointed down, legs completely straight, and abs squeezed in. Your arms arm extended to the floor and your palms flat. Slowly extend your arms straight out in front of you to a superman position, continuously bring your arms back to 90 degrees so your body forms a T, then extend your arms fully behind you in one motion. This movement will simulate a breast stroke in swimming.

    Pushups with Rotation

Kneel on the floor and place your hands on the floor in front of you, with your right thumb and index finger almost touching your left thumb and index finger to form a triangle. Draw your abdominals inward and tighten Move into a push up position, with body supported on your hands and toes, and your torso parallel to the ground so that your hips and shoulders are on an even plane. Keeping your torso parallel to the ground, slowly bend your elbows lowering your body to the ground, and then raise your body back to the starting push up position. Keeping your right arm on the ground, rotate your body at your left shoulder, reaching your left hand toward the ceiling. Continue the rotation as far as you are capable while maintaining balance. Reverse the motion to return your hand to its starting position and repeat the exercise raising your right hand. Repeat the exercise alternating sides as directed.

Taking Your Workout On The Road

I know there are many of you out there who have been in the same position I find myself frequently. You have just had 3 great weeks of creating a routine in your workout program and are feeling and seeing results, and now you have to leave town for a week long conference. This leaves you feeling like you have interrupted your flow, and are a little frustrated with feeling like you will have lost a step when you return. What should you do? How can you keep the momentum going?

In my career I have had the opportunity to travel frequently for work, and have worked with many clients who spend much of their time on the road. Some clients are traveling as much as 12-15 days a month. We often have the conversation about the hurdles they face in trying to maintain consistency in their workout programs while traveling. Long days are spent in meetings or at trade shows, followed by dinner with colleagues or clients that fill your day until bedtime and then you start over again. Does any of this sound familiar?

So the most frequently asked questions are, “What can I do that is going to be effective?” and “How can my workout program be managed in my busy schedule while on the road?” Well, there are always solutions. One solution is to make you a priority and schedule your workouts into your travel itinerary. You may not have the hour that you’re used to at home, but if you can manage 20-30 minutes, you’ll find yourself feeling good about maintaining your consistency.

Try bringing some resistance tubing with you on your trip and workout in your room. It fits easily into a suitcase and can offer a lot of variety to your workout program. Instead of doing a series of sets with rest, try doing a circuit. This will allow you to manage your workout time and maintain your volume. You can try body weight exercises such as pushups, abdominal bridges, prisoner squats and lunges. With your tubing you can do a series of movements such as shoulder press, bicep curl, row and cable twist. Do 8-10 exercises and run through the series twice at about 30-60 seconds per exercise, moving from one directly into the next with little to no rest between your sets. Don’t forget to do a warm up and cool down with some flexibility exercises and stretches before and after as well. Alternate these resistance workouts with your cardio workout days and you should have a plan that will allow you to complete a quality workout in 30 minutes or less. I have found that even the busiest of traveling business men and women are able to manage a 30 minute workout program while away from home.

Just because you are going to be traveling, it doesn’t mean you have to lose your consistency. Make it a priority to schedule your workouts, and execute them. You might even find yourself more alert and effective in those afternoon meetings.

Top 10 Tips for Running Your Best Marathon

Marathons are becoming more and more popular these days. Marathons in large cities around the United States have started lotteries to pick the participants because of overwhelming registrations. At Liveleantoday.com, we wanted to support people with their marathon training programs. If you are going to make the commitment to train for a marathon lets make the effort count.

    1. Proper Running Shoes: The most important decision you can make is proper running shoes for the biomechanics (way your foot moves) of your feet. The number one cause of injuries while training is improper shoes. There are three types of running shoes: stability, cushion, and motion control. Stability shoes are designed for those that have neutral to slight pronation (rolling your foot inward) during running. Cushion shoes are designed for people with high arches, and motion control shoes are designed for people that over pronate or roll their feet too far inward. Find a running shoe store that can test your biomechanics and recommend proper shoes for you.

    2. Eat carbs: We don't need to over eat carbs, just make them 60% of your daily diet. Carbs don't make you fat, they are actually your major source of energy. Often people running marathons for weight loss don't eat enough total calories for the amount of exercise they are doing. This puts them into an exercise starvation mode that shuts their bodies' fat burning properties off and people actually store more fat. If you are not losing weight with your marathon there is a good chance you are not eating enough. Use a heart rate monitor to measure your calories you are burning and add every calorie burned over 500 back into your diet.

    3. Get electrolytes: Drinking water is good enough. Electrolytes we eat and drink absorb water to keep us hydrated. Especially running in heat people sweat out tons of electrolytes and without replenishing them stay dehydrated even if they drink water. Electrolytes are found in salty food, sports drinks, and many of the running gels you can purchase.

    4. Interval Training: Most marathon training programs only put interval training into the advanced programs. Interval training is actually great for people at every level. Interval training is workouts where you repeat short durations of high intensity followed by short durations of low intensity running. Interval training is the most efficient way to increase your speed and your body's ability to produce more energy. With proper heart rate training any person can do optimal interval training.

    5. One Long Day: You actually only need to do one long run a week. If you can do it once you can do it for your race. Most people do too many long runs each week, which puts too much extra toll on your body. This extra toll causes so many of the marathon training related injuries. Most injuries occur from people doing too many miles, not running to fast.

    6. Plenty of Sleep: Your body needs the rest from all of your training. The best way to have a poor race is not to give your body adequate amounts of sleep. Getting rest the week before your race isn't good enough. To be in peak shape for your marathon you need to get a good nights sleep for the entire training program. One night of bad sleep isn't going to do anything though consistent lack of sleep will greatly damper your results.

    7. Train with a Heart Rate Monitor: The best way to train at the correct pace for you is using a heart rate monitor. Training each week at different heart rate zones optimizes your speed and your body's ability to produce energy. Liveleantoday.com, an online personal trainer and dietician website, customizes your heart rate zones for optimal marathon race results. Secondly, noticing changes in your heart rate from day to day can tell you if you are overtraining, not getting enough sleep, or you are dehydrated.

    8. Training Partner: To run your best marathon it is good to get a training partner. A person that will help you be accountable to your training program and get out of bed on some of those tough days. If you are unable to find a training partner on a regular basis, find a person you can do interval training workouts with to push you and challenge you to become faster.

    9. Rest: You want to be in peak shape for your marathon race day. A good taper for a month before you race is ideal. A taper is a slow decrease in the mileage each week allowing your body to recover. You are not going to make any training improvements that will matter for your race, so give your body the rest and run the fastest race for you.

    10. Start Slow: We all want to start fast and look good at the start of the race. Most people take off too fast and burn a high percentage of their stored energy in the first mile. Taking off to fast will drastically slow down your pace for the whole marathon. To run a fast time start even slower than you think and gradually pick up your pace until you get to a good pace for you. Starting slower will give you energy to go at a fast pace for the entire race and even go faster at the end. The greatest way to run a poor time is to be slowing down the whole second half of the marathon.

Best Ephedra Free Weight Loss and Diet Supplements

Choosing a weight loss supplement can sometimes be an overwhelming experience as the health and fitness world has become saturated with supplements. In the form of pills, powders, liquids and tablets, it can get confusing when choosing what you should use for your needs. Supplementstogo.com carries a large selection of products in the weight loss category that are top of the line and competitively priced. Before purchasing any weight loss supplement, I recommend learning about the ingredients within the product and what the supplement will do for you.

Lean Out increases the utilization of stored fats for energy, sparing glycogen and amino acids. In essence, Lean Out shifts your fuel source utilization toward fats, leaving your amino acids and glycogen free to build muscle. If you want to improve your Muscle-to-Fat Ratio, Lean Out supplementation is a must.

There are two glaring unavoidable metabolic barriers that govern fat loss. The first is genetic, your metabolism may not be that good to start with (due to your body's less than optimal production of thermogenic enzymes), and worse, it declines as you grow older. Second, when dieting, your metabolism may diminish further as you reduce calories in the quest for more fat loss. If not for these two barriers, losing fat would be infinitely easier.

7-Keto, in the recommended amount, is research proven to help you avoid both obstacles. It will improve your output of thermogenic enzymes and up-regulate your metabolic "Set Point". This set point is the level of fat that your body constantly strives to maintain in storage. 7-Keto has been proven to shift your metabolic set point in favor of a leaner more muscular physique while keeping your metabolism supercharged.

Energy Reserve, by Beverly International, is a supplement that will increase the usage of fat stores for energy and not compromise muscle tissue. L-Carnitine is required for transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria of your muscle cells where they serve as a substrate for energy production while sparing muscle glycogen. Carnitine deficiency causes the fatty acids to back-up and accumulate in the blood ultimately resulting in additional deposition of fat, usually right in the areas where you already have the greatest accumulation. L-Carnitine works synergistically with branched chain amino acids to increase their net metabolism. Remember that the BCAA's are the major amino acid constituents of your muscles. An increase in the amino acid content of the muscle will result in, at the very least, increased muscular hardness and possibly new muscle tissue. To sum up, L-Carnitine increases the utilization of fats for energy, sparing glycogen and amino acids. In essence, L-Carnitine shifts your fuel source utilization toward fats, leaving your amino acids and glycogen free to build muscle.

Xelerate is a revolutionary superior supplement that increases energy, enhances mental acuity, and suppresses appetite. Whether you are training for fat loss, athletic competitions, or to get flat abs fast, Xyience Xelerate is the choice for you. If you're ready to experience the vitality and strength that accelerated results can bring, then it's time you discovered the cutting edge thermogenic supplement that's changing fat burning and weight loss forever.

XFBAM is an Ephedrine-Free thermogenic formula that promotes fat loss, lean muscle increase and will help increase energy levels. It's perfect for anyone who wants to decrease their appetite and lose weight. XFBAM provides a premium blend of natural ingredients formulated to promote thermogenesis (fat burning), weight loss, appetite control, and increased energy levels.

Remember weight loss supplements are best used in conjunction with a healthy diet and fitness program including weight training and cardiovascular training. Educate yourself before purchasing and make sure you conform to the recommended dosages when using these diet supplements.

    Why Core Fitness Is Important

If you’ve listened to the buzz around the fitness world lately or perused the latest workout books, you’ve probably heard the experts referencing core fitness in some shape or form. Traditionally, strength training has been dominated by exercises focused on isolating the muscles of the arms and legs. In fact, if you look at many of the weight machines that have become popular in modern gyms, you’ll notice that they require you to sit or recline while you use them.

While these machines will effectively help you build the muscles that they target, the problem is that, in real life, we don’t use our muscles that way. We lift a box from the floor to a shelf, swing a golf club, push our children on the swing set, or climb a rock wall. In fact, the vast majority of the things we do require all of the muscles in our bodies to function together and be coordinated through our mid-sections, or our “core.”

While those activities may make the use of core muscles seem very obvious, this area, made up of the muscles of our midsection, are actually responsible for quite a few of the more subtle functions as well, including posture, balance and stability.

A weakened core will often result in poor posture and stability, yet we don’t necessarily feel the results of it in areas that show us a direct cause and effect correlation. For example, poor posture, due to a weakened core, might allow our hips to slip out of alignment resulting in knee pain. In fact, quite a few of the chronic muscle and joint pain issues that

Americans are suffering with today stem from a weakened core.

It is no wonder, then, that exercise science has taken a dramatic shift in recent years to include the core in strength training regimes. Now, rather than using a machine to first exercise your legs and then your arms, trainers are suggesting that their clients use free weights or bands to combine exercises such as a squat to overhead press. By linking the two, people are forced to transition the exercise movement through their core, and the core muscles in turn help to maintain good posture throughout the exercise. The end result is that we are exercising in a fashion that mimics the movements that we use in everyday life, while creating better posture and increasing our stability and balance.

How To Take A Weight Loss Pill Or Nutritional Supplement

Weight loss pills can be categorized into either prescription of non prescription, generally speaking. The prescription pills are like drugs. They are closely monitored by your physician and regulated by the FDA. Examples of these pills include Xenical and Orlistat and undergo clinical testing to document their effectiveness in their ability to help a person lose weight while also monitoring possible side effects and other health risks.

The non prescription pills are considered weight loss supplements and are available over the counter while needing only the minimum for FDA approval and regulation. These will also include the generic categories of herbal weight loss pills, fat burners and many additional diet supplements.

Weight loss pills aren’t magical, but they can work effectively when done right. It is recommended to always consult a physician before investing is an over the counter weight loss pill. They will be most effective when used in conjunction with a consistent exercise program and healthy diet plan. Prescription weight loss pills are specifically designed for those individuals to be considered clinically obese, as it is a very serious condition that could justify the risk of any possible side effects.

The only way to lose weight and keep it off is through indefinite lifestyle changes: Eat healthier, low-calorie foods, watch portion sizes, and engage in regular physical activity. It's certainly no magic pill, but it works.

Some others work to increase your feeling of fullness after eating. Some of the newest weight loss pills on the market work by inhibiting the absorption of fat.

If you think you are a candidate for taking a weight loss pill, either prescription or non prescription, here are some guidelines to follow.

    • Consult your physician regarding any pill you may wish to take. Your Doctor will be able to consult you regarding existing medical conditions and how your body might react to the product.

    • Monitor yourself. Be aware of physical changes and journal how quickly you might be losing weight.

    • Always follow the instructions and do not take more that the recommended dosage. You won’t get faster results by taking more pills or taking them more frequently.

10 Steps, Obesity, Overcome Your Personal Battle

Fighting obesity can be difficult not only physically, but psychologically as well. Failed attempt at losing weight can take its toll on your body and mind and it is crucial to prepared mentally and physically in order to successfully lose weight. The Live programs and their support system focus not only on creating an excellent fitness program, but invest a lot of time working with clients on the psychological side of fighting obesity. The following is a set of steps, some in preparation and some to be used through out the program to ensure success.

    1. Recognizing the programs that run you

What are the things that hold you back? What are the excuses you make? What are the behaviors you engage in that keep you from obtaining what you want? People always say “Commit to change.” Well easier said than done. It’s very difficult to commit to going somewhere when we don’t recognize where we are or where we’ve been. I learned that programs are the hard wiring within you that drives your thoughts and actions. Programs certainly can’t be changed overnight, but you can reflect on what hurdles you create that make it difficult for you to be successful with your weight loss goals. Lack of self confidence can lead to procrastination and excuses. This is a program that affects many. Recognize your programs, behaviors, and attitudes and you’ll better understand where you’ve been and where you are. Then you can move forward and begin reaching your goals.

    2. Commit

Do what you say you are going to do. Have a plan and commit to executing it. Make your goals realistic, focus on short achievements, and celebrate small successes along the way. Have a goal of consistency. Your plan should include committing to consistent activity. Make a goal to drink 8 glasses of water a day or have a goal of adding a vegetable to every dinner meal during the weekdays. Success in these short term achievements will reap rewards in your long term weight loss goals.

    3. Support system

Success is easy to attain when you have people around you. Tell your family, friends, co-workers that you have a weight loss goal, and let them help. Work with a Personal Trainer or Registered Dietician and let them help. A support system can come in the form of encouragement, companionship, and accountability, and can make your road to weight loss success much more enjoyable.

    4. Sensible goals

Know your body, and be honesty with yourself about what is real. If you haven’t already, consult a physician regarding what is realistic. You can also test to rule out any obstacles medically related to weight loss such as under active thyroid or food allergies that could inhibit your weight loss.

    5. Consistency

Most important to any exercise program is consistency. With a little consistency you can develop habits, and then you’ll be less likely to regress. You will reach your weight loss goals faster when you stay on track and don’t let your hurdles get in the way. This goes for your diet as well. It’s ok to have a cheat day, but make it just one. If you are consistent, you will get results.

    6. Use portion control

5 small meals a day is the best way to speed up your metabolism, regulate blood sugar levels, curb hunger binges, and ultimately lose weight.

    7. Eat fiber rich foods

Foods that are rich in fiber tend to be filling; therefore people will feel full and not eat as much. Studies have also found that a diet high in fiber can reduce the risk of heart disease, digestive problems and diabetes.

    8. Cut calorie dense foods

Foods that have a high content of salt, sugar and flour can also be densely packed with calories. Twizzlers have over 250 calories in a small package, a half order of pasta with Alfredo sauce has 680 calories at many Italian chain restaurants, and a bagel has over 300 calories without cream cheese or butter. High salt content is found in calorie dense, low fiber, processed foods. Too much salt can lead to elevated blood pressure and is also associated with hindering weight loss.

    9. Have an activity

There is no better way to maintain consistency in reaching your health and fitness goals than having an activity. When you enjoy doing something, it isn’t work anymore. Activities such as hiking, swimming, cycling, racquetball and rock climbing are great examples of activities that can add versatility to your fitness program.

    10. Work Hard!

Losing any significant amount of weight is not easy. Any good program will have a nice mixture of high and low intensity workouts with rest cycles built in. But I have seen too many people going through the motions of a workout and they never even break a sweat. Your body will respond to the stimulus that you create and will respond to loads and intensity. To keep your body from hitting a plateau, you must constantly challenge your body and find new ways to create stimulation to adapt to. With constant stimulation and variety will come consistent results.

Indoor Rock Climbing for Fitness: It's Not Extreme Anymore

Once an activity labeled as an “extreme sport”, rock climbing has in the last few years become a very popular workout activity as the use of indoor climbing walls in fitness facilities, community centers and health clubs has increased and made the sport much more user friendly. Not only can it be fun and exciting, rock climbing is one of the most effective strength training workouts a person can ever have, providing fitness and strength benefits that are difficult to match with any other single activity. If you want to work out every muscle in your body in the shortest amount of time possible and get quick results in strength, body shape, toning and muscular endurance, there is no better thing to do. It burns a tremendous amount of calories as well, assisting with weight or fat loss. And did I mention that it is fun? Participants sometimes have such a blast that they even forget to feel tired!

Around twenty years ago, the very first climbing gyms started appearing around the United States. One of the first was The Vertical Club in Seattle, Washington, and that is where I first took a lesson and learned to climb. My experience walking in there in 1993 was TOTALLY different than a new climber would have walking into the average climbing facility now. Back then, climbing gyms were primarily the domain of serious rock climbers who needed a way to stay in shape during the bad weather months or in between trips to outdoor climbing locations. Climbing as a general fitness activity hadn’t arrived yet.

When I entered the facility that day, I was first greeted by a man on crutches who told me he had just broken his ankle in an outdoor climbing fall. He seemed pretty intense. There were several men climbing near the front without shirts on, their bodies seemingly made of nothing but muscle and sinew. One of them was attempting a climbing move just a few feet off the ground right in front of his buddies, who stood no more than arms reach from him, shouting him encouragement and prepared to break his fall if he came off the wall. He was exerting himself fully while trying the move, and I was struck by his effort, while all he had to do was literally put his foot down and he would have been standing directly on the ground.

I felt somewhat intimidated by the atmosphere. The place was definitely filled with people who climbed seriously, and at that time I was definitely someone who did not. I was glad I was there to take an actual lesson because I would have absolutely no idea how to start for myself. My teacher was the owner of the club, and he was very friendly and helpful. It was almost like having my own personal trainer. By the end of the 2 hour lesson I knew my way around the gym and the equipment and knew how to belay another climber and tie myself into the rope for safety. And I had climbed from the bottom of the walls to the top several times successfully. I was officially a climber, albeit a very enthusiastic beginner.

In the present day, a first trip to a climbing facility for a beginner will be a completely different experience. There are many more climbing gyms around, and like I mentioned above, many fitness centers and health clubs have climbing walls now. These climbing gyms and fitness center walls are used much more now by the average fitness enthusiast who is looking for a fun way to workout or have some recreation, and beginner classes abound. The look and feel of the facilities is usually very family friendly. Birthday parties and social events for kids, corporate outing and team building for adults as well as family recreation outings make up a huge percentage of the business for climbing walls nowadays. A first time visitor will be greeted by an enthusiastic staff wearing matching t-shirts and typically watch a safety video that gives an overview of the procedures of the facility. Then in a small group or individually, they are led out to attempt a few climbs before they are cleared to use the place on their own. The extensive orientation I received at The Vertical Club is mostly a thing of the past. The equipment and safety set up is much easier for the average person to learn, which gets them climbing and having fun sooner. This has greatly increased the number of people who participate in climbing and has led to the serious climbers that I saw on my first trip to The Vertical Club frequently being the minority in the gym at any given time.

Getting your exercise while climbing indoors usually involves you making your way from the floor toward the ceiling of the facility using plastic holds for your hands and feet that have the same look and feel as real rock. These are attached to a wall that is textured to resemble a real cliff face. As you make your way to the top, a cable attached to an automatic belay device or a rope attached to your partner and tied to your safety harness that you wear keeps you safe from a fall. Most indoor facilities have walls for roped climbing that go up to about 30 feet in height, though some in the United States go from 60 to 90 feet. Most facilities also have a version of climbing called bouldering where the climber is not roped but never climbs more than 10-15 feet off the ground, protecting against a fall with large gymnastics pads moved around on the floor underneath. Snug fitting climbing shoes with specially made rubber soles are worn for incredible grip against the footholds.

Indoor rock climbing requires exactly the same fitness and muscle strength and enduranace demands as doing it outdoors. And the benefits are awesome! Unlike traditional weight training which involves lifting weight in a controlled movement in a gym or home setting, rock climbing is “strength training with a twist”: you as the climber are now the weight going up or down and rather than an arbitrary number of repetitions to be performed to complete a set, the goal of climbing is to get to the top of the wall. It doesn’t matter how it is accomplished, either. Climbing doesn’t have to look pretty to be effective. The result is a change of focus away from the effort of repetitions to the effort of working toward the immediately achievable goal of reaching the top. This can result in a very empowering feeling of accomplishment for the climber, because each trip up the wall holds a challenge that can be overcome and a goal that is achieved. This is what has been known to be addicting and can lead you to want to do more. And when you want to do more, you will keep doing it. And that is the biggest secret for long term success in fitness: keep doing it! It is amazing what consistency can accomplish.
